  1. 2.5

iha loke — in this world

Better to live in this world on alms than to kill these noble elders. If I killed them for the sake of gain, the food I ate afterwards would be stained with blood.

  2. 2.40

    iha — in this

On this path no effort is wasted and no step is lost. Even a little of it saves you from great fear.

  3. 2.41

    iha — on this path

On this path, son of Kuru, the resolute mind is single. The minds of the irresolute are many-branched and endless.

  4. 2.50

    iha — in this life

One joined to understanding lets go of both good and bad deeds. So devote yourself to yoga. Yoga is skill in action.

  5. 3.16

    iha — in this life

Whoever does not keep this wheel turning lives wrongly, son of Pritha, delighting only in the senses, and lives in vain.

  6. 3.18

    iha — here

Such a person gains nothing by acting and loses nothing by not acting, and depends on no creature for anything.

  7. 3.37

iha — in the material world

It is desire, it is anger, born of the strand of restlessness — all-devouring, deeply harmful. Know this as the enemy here.

  8. 4.2

    iha — in this world

So it was received, handed from one to the next, and the royal sages knew it. But with the long passage of time, that yoga was lost in this world.

  9. 4.12

    iha — in this world

Those who want their undertakings to succeed make offerings to the gods, and success in the human world comes to them quickly.

  10. 4.38

    iha — in this world

Nothing in this world purifies like knowledge. One perfected in practice finds it in time, within.

  11. 6.40

    iha — in this world

There is no destruction for such a person, son of Pritha, either here or beyond. No one who does good ever comes to a bad end.

  12. 7.2

    iha — in this world

I will tell you this knowledge in full, together with what is realised through it, knowing which nothing further remains to be known here.

  13. 11.7

    iha — here

See here, gathered in one place, the whole world, moving and unmoving — and whatever else you wish to see, in this body of mine.

  14. 11.32

    iha — this world

I am time, the destroyer of worlds, grown mighty; I have come forth to bring their ending. Even without you, none of these warriors drawn up in the opposing ranks will remain.

  15. 15.3

    iha — in this world

Its form is not perceived here as it is — neither its end, nor its beginning, nor its middle. Having cut this deep-rooted fig with the strong axe of non-attachment,

  16. 16.24

    iha — in this world

So let the scriptures be your measure in deciding what is to be done and what is not. Knowing what they teach, act.

  17. 17.18

    iha — in this world

Austerity performed for the sake of respect, honour and reverence, and with show, is said here to be of restlessness — unsteady and impermanent.

  18. 17.28

    iha — in this world

But an offering made, a gift given, an austerity practised or an act done without faith is called Asat, Arjuna. It is nothing here, and nothing beyond.
