4.12 Those who want results Krishna speaks
काङ्क्षन्तः कर्मणां सिद्धिं यजन्त इह देवताः
क्षिप्रं हि मानुषे लोके सिद्धिर्भवति कर्मजा
kāṅkṣhantaḥ karmaṇāṁ siddhiṁ yajanta iha devatāḥ
kṣhipraṁ hi mānuṣhe loke siddhir bhavati karmajā
Those who want their undertakings to succeed make offerings to the gods, and success in the human world comes to them quickly.
Explanation
Those who want their undertakings to succeed.
They make offerings to the gods, and success in the human world comes to them quickly.
No criticism, and no denial that it works. The Gita's objection to this arrangement is always the one 9.21 states — it works, and then it stops working.
