  1. 4.6

    अजोऽपि सन्नव्ययात्मा भूतानामीश्वरोऽपि सन्

    bhūtānām — of (all) beings

    Though unborn, though imperishable in nature, though the lord of all beings — I take my stand on my own nature and come into being.

    भोक्तारं यज्ञतपसां सर्वलोकमहेश्वरम्

    bhūtānām — the living beings

    Knowing me as the one who receives every offering and austerity, the great lord of all worlds, and the friend of all beings — one comes to peace.

    पुण्यो गन्धः पृथिव्यां च तेजश्चास्मि विभावसौ

    bhūteṣhu — beings

    I am the clean fragrance of the earth and the brightness in fire; the life in all that lives, and the austerity of those who practise it.

    बलं बलवतां चाहं कामरागविवर्जितम्

    bhūteṣhu — in all beings

    I am the strength of the strong, free of desire and craving. I am the desire in beings that does not go against what is right.

    परस्तस्मात्तु भावोऽन्योऽव्यक्तोऽव्यक्तात्सनातनः

    bhūteṣhu — in beings

    But beyond that unmanifest is another, higher, eternal and unmanifest, which does not perish when all beings perish.

    अहिंसा समता तुष्टिस्तपो दानं यशोऽयशः

    bhūtānām — of living entities

    harmlessness, evenness, contentment, austerity, giving, honour and dishonour — the states of beings arise from me alone, in all their variety.

    I am the self seated in the heart of all beings. I am the beginning, the middle and the end of beings.

    bhūtānām — amongst the living beings

    Among the Vedas I am the Sama; among the gods, Indra; among the senses, the mind; and in living beings I am consciousness.

    भवाप्ययौ हि भूतानां श्रुतौ विस्तरशो मया

    bhūtānām — of all living beings

    I have heard from you in detail of the coming and going of beings, lotus-eyed one, and of your imperishable greatness.

    बहिरन्तश्च भूतानामचरं चरमेव च

    bhūtānām — all living beings

    Outside beings and inside them, unmoving and moving; so subtle that it cannot be known; far away and also near.

    अविभक्तं च भूतेषु विभक्तमिव च स्थितम्

    bhūteṣhu — amongst living beings

    Undivided among beings, and yet standing as if divided; the sustainer of beings, and their devourer and their maker.

    समं सर्वेषु भूतेषु तिष्ठन्तं परमेश्वरम्

    bhūteṣhu — beings

    One who sees the highest lord standing the same in all beings, undying among the dying, truly sees.

    अहिंसा सत्यमक्रोधस्त्यागः शान्तिरपैशुनम्

    bhūteṣhu — toward all living beings

    harmlessness, truth, freedom from anger, letting go, calm, no fault-finding, compassion for beings, no craving, gentleness, modesty, no fickleness;

    पृथक्त्वेन तु यज्ज्ञानं नानाभावान्पृथग्विधान्

    But the knowledge which, seeing separateness, takes the many natures of beings to be distinct in kind, is of restlessness.

    यतः प्रवृत्तिर्भूतानां येन सर्वमिदं ततम्

    bhūtānām — of all living entities

    By worshipping through their own work the one from whom all beings arise and by whom all this is pervaded, a person reaches perfection.

  16. 18.54

    ब्रह्मभूतः प्रसन्नात्मा न शोचति न काङ्क्षति

    bhūteṣhu — living beings

    Having become Brahman, serene in self, one does not grieve and does not crave; the same toward all beings, such a person reaches the highest devotion to me.
