    कृपया परयाऽऽविष्टो विषीदन्निदमब्रवीत्

    Seeing my own people standing here, Krishna, wanting to fight — my limbs give way, and my mouth goes dry.

    न काङ्क्षे विजयं कृष्ण न च राज्यं सुखानि च

    kṛiṣhṇa — Krishna

    I do not want victory, Krishna, nor a kingdom, nor pleasures. What is a kingdom to us, what are enjoyments, or life itself?

    अधर्माभिभवात्कृष्ण प्रदुष्यन्ति कुलस्त्रियः

    kṛiṣhṇa — Shree Krishna

    Where disorder prevails, Krishna, the women of the family are corrupted; and when the women are corrupted, confusion of lineage follows.

    You praise the renunciation of action, Krishna, and then you praise yoga. Which of the two is better? Tell me clearly.

    The mind is restless, Krishna, turbulent, strong and stubborn. Holding it seems to me as hard as holding the wind.

    अयतिः श्रद्धयोपेतो योगाच्चलितमानसः

    One who has faith but is slack, whose mind wanders from yoga, and who fails to reach its perfection — where does such a person go, Krishna?

    एतन्मे संशयं कृष्ण छेत्तुमर्हस्यशेषतः

    Cut away this doubt of mine completely, Krishna. There is no one but you who can cut it.
