6.39 No one else can cut it Arjuna speaks
एतन्मे संशयं कृष्ण छेत्तुमर्हस्यशेषतः
त्वदन्यः संशयस्यास्य छेत्ता न ह्युपपद्यते
etan me sanśhayaṁ kṛiṣhṇa chhettum arhasyaśheṣhataḥ
tvad-anyaḥ sanśhayasyāsya chhettā na hyupapadyate
Cut away this doubt of mine completely, Krishna. There is no one but you who can cut it.
Explanation
There is no one but you who can cut it.
Cut this doubt away completely — chettum arhasi.
The most direct appeal Arjuna makes in the book, and it is not about the war. He has stopped asking whether to fight; he is asking whether trying and failing is survivable.
