6.37 What about the one who fails? Arjuna speaks

अयतिः श्रद्धयोपेतो योगाच्चलितमानसः
अप्राप्य योगसंसिद्धिं कां गतिं कृष्ण गच्छति

ayatiḥ śhraddhayopeto yogāch chalita-mānasaḥ
aprāpya yoga-sansiddhiṁ kāṅ gatiṁ kṛiṣhṇa gachchhati

One who has faith but is slack, whose mind wanders from yoga, and who fails to reach its perfection — where does such a person go, Krishna?

Explanation

Arjuna asks the question nobody asks.

What about the one who has faith but is slack, whose mind wanders, and who fails — where do they go?

Every teaching describes its success. Arjuna asks about the person who tried and did not get there, which is most people, and the Gita spends eight verses answering.
