  1. 11.16

    अनेकबाहूदरवक्त्रनेत्रं पश्यामि त्वां सर्वतोऽनन्तरूपम्

    viśhwa-īśhwara — The Lord of the universe

    I see you everywhere, of endless form, with many arms and bellies and mouths and eyes. I see no end in you, no middle and no beginning, lord of all.

    त्वमक्षरं परमं वेदितव्यं त्वमस्य विश्वस्य परं निधानम्

    viśhwasya — of the creation

    You are the imperishable, the highest to be known. You are the ultimate resting place of this world; you are the undying guardian of what is right; you are, I believe, the everlasting person.

    त्वमादिदेवः पुरुषः पुराण स्त्वमस्य विश्वस्य परं निधानम्

    viśhwasya — universe

    You are the first of gods, the ancient person, the ultimate resting place of this world; the knower and the known, and the highest dwelling. By you this world is pervaded, you of endless form.

    किरीटिनं गदिनं चक्रहस्त मिच्छामि त्वां द्रष्टुमहं तथैव

    viśhwa-mūrte — universal form

    I wish to see you as before — crowned, bearing the club, the disc in your hand. Take on that four-armed form, thousand-armed one of universal form.

    मया प्रसन्नेन तवार्जुनेदं रूपं परं दर्शितमात्मयोगात्

    viśhwam — cosmic

    Out of grace toward you, Arjuna, I have shown you by my own power this highest form — radiant, universal, endless, primal — which no one before you has seen.
