11.18 You are the imperishable Arjuna speaks
त्वमक्षरं परमं वेदितव्यं त्वमस्य विश्वस्य परं निधानम्
त्वमव्ययः शाश्वतधर्मगोप्ता सनातनस्त्वं पुरुषो मतो मे
tvam akṣharaṁ paramaṁ veditavyaṁ
tvam asya viśhvasya paraṁ nidhānam
tvam avyayaḥ śhāśhvata-dharma-goptā
sanātanas tvaṁ puruṣho mato me
You are the imperishable, the highest to be known. You are the ultimate resting place of this world; you are the undying guardian of what is right; you are, I believe, the everlasting person.
Explanation
You are the imperishable.
The ultimate resting place, the undying guardian of what is right — and then: I believe.
The hedge is his. Even here, mid-vision, Arjuna marks the difference between what he sees and what he concludes, which is the same care he took at 10.13.
