Dwelling on things, a person becomes attached to them. From attachment, desire is born. From desire, anger.

रागद्वेषवियुक्तैस्तु विषयानिन्द्रियैश्चरन्

But one who moves among the objects of sense with the senses freed from craving and aversion, self-governed, comes to peace.
