    त्रैगुण्यविषया वेदा निस्त्रैगुण्यो भवार्जुन

    vedāḥ — Vedic scriptures

    The scriptures deal with the three strands of nature. Rise above them, Arjuna: free of opposites, steady in what is true, without acquiring, established in yourself.

    यावानर्थ उदपाने सर्वतः संप्लुतोदके

    vedeṣhu — Vedas

    Whatever use a small pool of water has, a great lake has too. So it is with all the scriptures for one who has understood.

    रसोऽहमप्सु कौन्तेय प्रभास्मि शशिसूर्ययोः

    I am the taste in water, son of Kunti; the light in moon and sun; the syllable Om in all the Vedas; sound in space; and the courage in a person.

    Among the Vedas I am the Sama; among the gods, Indra; among the senses, the mind; and in living beings I am consciousness.
