  1. 3.11

    देवान्भावयतानेन ते देवा भावयन्तु वः

    devān — celestial gods

    Sustain the gods by this, and let the gods sustain you. Sustaining one another, you will reach the highest good.

    इष्टान्भोगान्हि वो देवा दास्यन्ते यज्ञभाविताः

    devāḥ — the celestial gods

    Nourished by sacrifice, the gods will give you what you need. But one who enjoys their gifts without offering anything back is a thief.

    न मे विदुः सुरगणाः प्रभवं न महर्षयः

    Neither the hosts of gods nor the great seers know my origin. I am the source of the gods and of the great seers, in every way.

    Among the Vedas I am the Sama; among the gods, Indra; among the senses, the mind; and in living beings I am consciousness.

    The form you have seen is very hard to see. Even the gods long constantly to see it.

    deveṣhu — amongst the celestial gods

    There is no being on earth, nor among the gods in heaven, that is free from these three strands born of nature.
