11.52 Even the gods long to see it Krishna speaks
सुदुर्दर्शमिदं रूपं दृष्टवानसि यन्मम
देवा अप्यस्य रूपस्य नित्यं दर्शनकाङ्क्षिणः
su-durdarśham idaṁ rūpaṁ dṛiṣhṭavān asi yan mama
devā apy asya rūpasya nityaṁ darśhana-kāṅkṣhiṇaḥ
The form you have seen is very hard to see. Even the gods long constantly to see it.
Explanation
Even the gods long to see it.
The form is su-durdarśam — very hard to see, and constantly desired.
Said to the one person who has seen it and asked for it to be taken away. The verse is not a boast; it is establishing that the longing itself is the common condition, and it was answered here once.
