    यः सर्वत्रानभिस्नेहस्तत्तत्प्राप्य शुभाशुभम्

    dveṣhṭi — dejected by

    Unattached everywhere, meeting good and bad alike, neither delighting nor recoiling — in such a person wisdom is firmly established.

    ज्ञेयः स नित्यसंन्यासी यो न द्वेष्टि न काङ्क्षति

    dveṣhṭi — hate

    Know that one to be always a renouncer who neither hates nor craves. Free of opposites, mighty-armed one, such a person is released.

    यो न हृष्यति न द्वेष्टि न शोचति न काङ्क्षति

    dveṣhṭi — despair

    One who neither exults nor hates, neither grieves nor craves, who has let go of both the pleasant and the unpleasant — that one is dear to me.

    न द्वेष्ट्यकुशलं कर्म कुशले नानुषज्जते

    dveṣhṭi — hate

    One who neither hates unwelcome work nor clings to welcome work is a true renouncer, filled with clarity, free of doubt.
