    अथ व्यवस्थितान् दृष्ट्वा धार्तराष्ट्रान्कपिध्वजः

    dhārtarāṣhṭrān — Dhritarashtra’s sons

    Then, seeing Dhritarashtra's sons arrayed and the weapons about to fall, Arjuna — whose banner bears the monkey — raised his bow and spoke to Krishna.

    निहत्य धार्तराष्ट्रान्नः का प्रीतिः स्याज्जनार्दन

    dhārtarāṣhṭrān — the sons of Dhritarashtra

    What pleasure would there be for us in destroying Dhritarashtra's sons? Only guilt would come to us from killing them.

    तस्मान्नार्हा वयं हन्तुं धार्तराष्ट्रान्स्वबान्धवान्

    dhārtarāṣhṭrān — the sons of Dhritarashtra

    So it is not for us to kill Dhritarashtra's sons, our own kin. How could we be happy, having killed our own people?
