7.29 Knowing Brahman, knowing the whole Krishna speaks
जरामरणमोक्षाय मामाश्रित्य यतन्ति ये
ते ब्रह्म तद्विदुः कृत्स्नमध्यात्मं कर्म चाखिलम्
jarā-maraṇa-mokṣhāya mām āśhritya yatanti ye
te brahma tadviduḥ kṛitsnam adhyātmaṁ karma chākhilam
Those who take refuge in me and strive for release from old age and death know Brahman, and know the whole.
Explanation
Striving for release, and knowing the whole.
Those who take refuge in him and strive for release from old age and death know Brahman and know all of it.
The two motives are placed side by side without ranking — refuge and the wish not to die. Chapter 7 has been consistently generous about why people come, and it stays generous here at the end.
