7.19 After many births Krishna speaks
बहूनां जन्मनामन्ते ज्ञानवान्मां प्रपद्यते
वासुदेवः सर्वमिति स महात्मा सुदुर्लभः
bahūnāṁ janmanām ante jñānavān māṁ prapadyate
vāsudevaḥ sarvam iti sa mahātmā su-durlabhaḥ
After many births, one who knows comes to me, understanding that all this is Vasudeva. Such a soul is very rare.
Explanation
After many births, and rarely.
One who knows comes to him understanding that all this is Vasudeva — and such a soul is su-durlabhaḥ, very hard to find.
Which returns to 7.3's arithmetic. The chapter opens the door to four kinds of people and keeps saying, without contradiction, that almost nobody walks all the way through it.
