5.25 Divisions cut through Krishna speaks
लभन्ते ब्रह्मनिर्वाणमृषयः क्षीणकल्मषाः
छिन्नद्वैधा यतात्मानः सर्वभूतहिते रताः
labhante brahma-nirvāṇam ṛiṣhayaḥ kṣhīṇa-kalmaṣhāḥ
chhinna-dvaidhā yatātmānaḥ sarva-bhūta-hite ratāḥ
The seers whose faults are worn away, whose divisions are cut through, who are self-restrained and set on the good of all beings, reach the peace of Brahman.
Explanation
Divisions cut through.
chinna-dvaidhāḥ — those whose dualities are severed. Faults worn away, self-restrained, and set on the good of all beings.
That last clause keeps arriving in this chapter unannounced. Every portrait of the released person here includes caring what happens to everyone else, which a doctrine of detachment did not have to include.
