11.43 Nothing is like you Arjuna speaks

पितासि लोकस्य चराचरस्य त्वमस्य पूज्यश्च गुरुर्गरीयान्
न त्वत्समोऽस्त्यभ्यधिकः कुतोऽन्यो लोकत्रयेऽप्यप्रतिमप्रभाव

pitāsi lokasya charācharasya
tvam asya pūjyaśh cha gurur garīyān
na tvat-samo ’sty abhyadhikaḥ kuto ’nyo
loka-traye ’py apratima-prabhāva

You are the father of this world, of what moves and what does not. You are its teacher, and worthy of its worship, and greater than any. There is nothing like you; how could anything be greater, you of matchless might in the three worlds?

Explanation

Nothing is like you.

Father of this world, its teacher, worthy of its worship — and then a question: how could anything be greater?

The praise has reached its ceiling. And the next verse is where it turns back toward the person, which is the movement the whole chapter needs to make.
