11.3 Now I wish to see Arjuna speaks
एवमेतद्यथात्थ त्वमात्मानं परमेश्वर
द्रष्टुमिच्छामि ते रूपमैश्वरं पुरुषोत्तम
evam etad yathāttha tvam ātmānaṁ parameśhvara
draṣhṭum ichchhāmi te rūpam aiśhwaraṁ puruṣhottama
You have spoken of yourself as you are, supreme lord. Now I wish to see that form of yours as ruler.
Explanation
Now I wish to see.
draṣṭum icchāmi — I want to see that form of yours as ruler.
This is the request the whole chapter is an answer to. Words have worked; he wants sight. It is the most human thing he asks for in the book, and it goes badly.
