यदक्षरं वेदविदो वदन्ति विशन्ति यद्यतयो वीतरागाः
viśhanti — enter
What those who know the Vedas call imperishable, what those free of craving enter, what the seekers of the holy life desire — that path I will declare to you briefly.
- 9.21
ते तं भुक्त्वा स्वर्गलोकं विशालं क्षीणे पुण्ये मर्त्यलोकं विशन्ति
viśhālam — vast
Having enjoyed that wide heaven, their merit exhausted, they return to the world of mortals. Those who seek pleasure by following the rites come and go.
- 11.21
अमी हि त्वां सुरसङ्घाः विशन्ति केचिद्भीताः प्राञ्जलयो गृणन्ति
viśhanti — are entering
Here the hosts of gods are entering you. Some, afraid, praise you with folded hands. The great seers and the perfected cry “may it be well” and sing of you in abundant hymns.

अमी च त्वां धृतराष्ट्रस्य पुत्राः सर्वे सहैवावनिपालसङ्घैः
viśhanti — enter
And there the sons of Dhritarashtra, all of them, with the hosts of kings, and Bhishma and Drona and Karna too, and the chief warriors of our own side,

यथा नदीनां बहवोऽम्बुवेगाः समुद्रमेवाभिमुखाः द्रवन्ति
viśhanti — enter
As the many currents of rivers run toward the sea, so these heroes of the world of men enter your blazing mouths.
- 11.29
यथा प्रदीप्तं ज्वलनं पतङ्गा विशन्ति नाशाय समृद्धवेगाः
viśhanti — enter
As moths fly into a burning flame and perish, so these worlds rush into your mouths and perish.
