    क्रोधाद्भवति संमोहः संमोहात्स्मृतिविभ्रमः

    smṛiti — memory

    From anger, confusion. From confusion, memory fails. When memory fails, discernment is lost — and when discernment is lost, a person is lost.

    मृत्युः सर्वहरश्चाहमुद्भवश्च भविष्यताम्

    smṛitiḥ — memory

    I am death, which carries everything off, and the origin of what is yet to be. Among what is feminine I am fame, fortune, speech, memory, wisdom, steadfastness and patience.

    सर्वस्य चाहं हृदि सन्निविष्टो मत्तः स्मृतिर्ज्ञानमपोहनं च

    smṛitiḥ — memory

    And I am seated in the hearts of all. From me come memory and knowledge, and their loss. I am what is to be known through all the Vedas; I am the maker of their meaning, and the knower of them.

    My confusion is gone and I have regained my memory, by your grace, unfailing one. I stand firm; my doubts are gone. I will do as you say.
