2.63 And then a person is lost Krishna speaks
क्रोधाद्भवति संमोहः संमोहात्स्मृतिविभ्रमः
स्मृतिभ्रंशाद् बुद्धिनाशो बुद्धिनाशात्प्रणश्यति
krodhād bhavati sammohaḥ sammohāt smṛiti-vibhramaḥ
smṛiti-bhranśhād buddhi-nāśho buddhi-nāśhāt praṇaśhyati
From anger, confusion. From confusion, memory fails. When memory fails, discernment is lost — and when discernment is lost, a person is lost.

- confusion
- memory fails
- discernment is lost
The chain that started with dwelling on an object ends with praṇaśyati — destroyed. Note where the failure lands: on memory, which is 15.15's forgetting, and the last thing you would notice going.
