उत्सीदेयुरिमे लोका न कुर्यां कर्म चेदहम्
karma — prescribed duties
and these worlds would fall to ruin. I would be the cause of chaos, and I would destroy these beings.

karmāṇi — activities
All actions are carried out by the strands of nature. But one deluded by the sense of self thinks: I am the doer.

Knowledge, the object of knowledge and the knower are the three that prompt action; the instrument, the act and the doer are its three components.

मुक्तसङ्गोऽनहंवादी धृत्युत्साहसमन्वितः
kartā — worker
A doer free of attachment, who does not speak of themselves, filled with resolve and vigour, unmoved in success and failure, is said to be of clarity.

रागी कर्मफलप्रेप्सुर्लुब्धो हिंसात्मकोऽशुचिः
karma-phala — fruit of work
A doer who craves, who covets the fruit of action, greedy, harmful by nature, unclean, moved by elation and grief, is said to be of restlessness.

अयुक्तः प्राकृतः स्तब्धः शठो नैष्कृतिकोऽलसः
kartā — performer
A doer who is undisciplined, coarse, stubborn, deceitful, dishonest, lazy, despondent and dilatory is said to be of inertia.
