    ज्ञेयः स नित्यसंन्यासी यो न द्वेष्टि न काङ्क्षति

    kāṅkṣhati — desire

    Know that one to be always a renouncer who neither hates nor craves. Free of opposites, mighty-armed one, such a person is released.

    यो न हृष्यति न द्वेष्टि न शोचति न काङ्क्षति

    kāṅkṣhati — hanker for gain

    One who neither exults nor hates, neither grieves nor craves, who has let go of both the pleasant and the unpleasant — that one is dear to me.

    प्रकाशं च प्रवृत्तिं च मोहमेव च पाण्डव

    kāṅkṣhati — longs

    Light, busyness and delusion — one who does not hate them when they arise, and does not long for them when they cease;

  4. 18.54

    ब्रह्मभूतः प्रसन्नात्मा न शोचति न काङ्क्षति

    kāṅkṣhati — desiring

    Having become Brahman, serene in self, one does not grieve and does not crave; the same toward all beings, such a person reaches the highest devotion to me.
