Chapter 1 4 of 18 chapters Chapter 18
  1. 4.33

    श्रेयान्द्रव्यमयाद्यज्ञाज्ज्ञानयज्ञः परन्तप

jñāna-yajñaḥ — sacrifice performed in knowledge

The offering of knowledge is better than the offering of possessions, Arjuna. All action, without exception, finds its end in knowledge.

  2. 4.38

    न हि ज्ञानेन सदृशं पवित्रमिह विद्यते

    jñānena — with divine knowledge

Nothing in this world purifies like knowledge. One perfected in practice finds it in time, within.

  3. 5.16

    ज्ञानेन तु तदज्ञानं येषां नाशितमात्मनः

    jñānena — by divine knowledge

But for those in whom that ignorance of the self has been destroyed by knowledge, knowledge lights up the highest as the sun lights up everything.

  4. 12.12

    श्रेयो हि ज्ञानमभ्यासाज्ज्ञानाद्ध्यानं विशिष्यते

    jñānam — knowledge

Knowledge is better than mere practice; meditation is better than knowledge; giving up the fruit of action is better than meditation — and from that giving up comes peace at once.

  5. 14.1

    परं भूयः प्रवक्ष्यामि ज्ञानानां ज्ञानमुत्तमम्

    jñānānām — of all knowledge

I will declare again the highest knowledge, best of all knowledge, by knowing which those who practise have reached perfection.
