  1. 3.10

    सहयज्ञाः प्रजाः सृष्ट्वा पुरोवाच प्रजापतिः

    iṣhṭa-kāma-dhuk — bestower of all wishes

    In the beginning the Lord of creatures brought forth beings together with sacrifice, and said: by this, flourish; let this be what grants your wishes.

    असक्ितरनभिष्वङ्गः पुत्रदारगृहादिषु

    iṣhṭa — the desirable

    non-attachment, no clinging to children, spouse, home and the rest, and constant evenness of mind in what is wanted and what is not;

    अनिष्टमिष्टं मिश्रं च त्रिविधं कर्मणः फलम्

    iṣhṭam — pleasant

    For those who do not let go, the fruit of action is threefold — unwelcome, welcome and mixed. For those who renounce, there is none.
