This body, son of Kunti, is called the field; and one who knows it is called the knower of the field.

यज्ञे तपसि दाने च स्थितिः सदिति चोच्यते

Steadiness in offering, in austerity and in giving is also called Sat; and any action for the sake of that is called Sat.

न हि देहभृता शक्यं त्यक्तुं कर्माण्यशेषतः

It is not possible for one who bears a body to give up action entirely. But one who lets go of the fruit of action is called a renouncer.
