6.22 No other gain greater Krishna speaks
यं लब्ध्वा चापरं लाभं मन्यते नाधिकं ततः
यस्मिन्स्थितो न दुःखेन गुरुणापि विचाल्यते
yaṁ labdhvā chāparaṁ lābhaṁ manyate nādhikaṁ tataḥ
yasmin sthito na duḥkhena guruṇāpi vichālyate
having gained which, one thinks no other gain greater; and standing in which, one is not moved even by heavy sorrow —
Explanation
Nothing else counts as a greater gain.
And standing in it, one is not moved even by heavy sorrow.
guruṇāpi duḥkhena. The verse does not promise the absence of sorrow — it promises weight without displacement, which is the more credible claim and the harder one.
