4.41 Actions do not bind Krishna speaks

योगसंन्यस्तकर्माणं ज्ञानसंछिन्नसंशयम्
आत्मवन्तं न कर्माणि निबध्नन्ति धनञ्जय

yoga-sannyasta-karmāṇaṁ jñāna-sañchhinna-sanśhayam
ātmavantaṁ na karmāṇi nibadhnanti dhanañjaya

One who has given up action through practice, whose doubts are cut away by knowledge, who is established in the self — actions do not bind that person.

Explanation

Actions do not bind such a person.

Doubts cut away by knowledge, established in the self — and the chapter's promise closes where 4.14 opened it.

The sword arrives in the next verse, and it has been prepared for by this one: what it cuts is named here as doubt, not desire and not the enemy.
