4.22 Content with what comes unsought Krishna speaks
यदृच्छालाभसन्तुष्टो द्वन्द्वातीतो विमत्सरः
समः सिद्धावसिद्धौ च कृत्वापि न निबध्यते
yadṛichchhā-lābha-santuṣhṭo dvandvātīto vimatsaraḥ
samaḥ siddhāvasiddhau cha kṛitvāpi na nibadhyate
Content with whatever comes unsought, beyond opposites, without envy, the same in success and failure — such a person acts and is not bound.
Explanation
Content with whatever comes unsought.
yadṛcchā-lābha-santuṣṭaḥ — satisfied by what arrives by chance.
It is the most livable sentence in the chapter. Not renouncing what comes, not pursuing it: taking what turns up and being done wanting.
