3.39 Insatiable as fire Krishna speaks

आवृतं ज्ञानमेतेन ज्ञानिनो नित्यवैरिणा
कामरूपेण कौन्तेय दुष्पूरेणानलेन च

āvṛitaṁ jñānam etena jñānino nitya-vairiṇā
kāma-rūpeṇa kaunteya duṣhpūreṇānalena cha

Knowledge is covered by this constant enemy of the wise, son of Kunti — desire, insatiable as fire.

Explanation

Insatiable as fire.

duṣpūreṇa — hard to fill. The same word chapter 16 will use for the desire of the other nature.

And it is called the constant enemy of the wise, which is the sting: not of the ignorant. Knowledge does not exempt anyone from this, exactly as 3.33 said.
