2.72 Even at the hour of death Krishna speaks
एषा ब्राह्मी स्थितिः पार्थ नैनां प्राप्य विमुह्यति
स्थित्वाऽस्यामन्तकालेऽपि ब्रह्मनिर्वाणमृच्छति
eṣhā brāhmī sthitiḥ pārtha naināṁ prāpya vimuhyati
sthitvāsyām anta-kāle ’pi brahma-nirvāṇam ṛichchhati
This is the state of Brahman, son of Pritha. Having reached it, one is not deluded. Established in it, even at the hour of death, one comes to the peace of Brahman.
Explanation
Even at the hour of death.
This is the state of Brahman; reaching it, one is not deluded. Established in it, even at the last hour, one comes to the peace of Brahman.
The chapter ends where chapter 8 will begin. And the final word is the one the whole chapter has been circling — peace, offered to a man who asked for it in 2.8 and was told no prize could bring it.
