2.55 Content within by the self Krishna speaks
प्रजहाति यदा कामान् सर्वान् पार्थ मनोगतान्
आत्मन्येवात्मना तुष्टः स्थितप्रज्ञस्तदोच्यते
prajahāti yadā kāmān sarvān pārtha mano-gatān
ātmany-evātmanā tuṣhṭaḥ sthita-prajñas tadochyate
When a person lets go of every desire that has entered the mind, and is content within the self by the self — then that one is called steady in wisdom.

When a person lets go of every desire that has entered the mind — and the phrase is careful. The desires arrive; the letting go is of what arrived.
Nothing here is about not having desires. It is about what happens after they turn up, which is the same realism as 6.26's wandering mind.
