18.71 And one who merely listens Krishna speaks
श्रद्धावाननसूयश्च श्रृणुयादपि यो नरः
सोऽपि मुक्तः शुभाँल्लोकान्प्राप्नुयात्पुण्यकर्मणाम्
śhraddhāvān anasūyaśh cha śhṛiṇuyād api yo naraḥ
so ‘pi muktaḥ śhubhāl lokān prāpnuyāt puṇya-karmaṇām
And a person who merely listens to it with faith and without carping is freed, and reaches the worlds of those who have done well.
Explanation
And one who merely listens.
With faith and without carping — freed, and reaching the worlds of those who have done well.
The last and widest of the book's many open doors. 13.26 granted the same to those who only heard it from others. Nothing more than listening without a sneer is required.
