16.3 Born to the divine nature Krishna speaks
तेजः क्षमा धृतिः शौचमद्रोहो नातिमानिता
भवन्ति सम्पदं दैवीमभिजातस्य भारत
tejaḥ kṣhamā dhṛitiḥ śhaucham adroho nāti-mānitā
bhavanti sampadaṁ daivīm abhijātasya bhārata
vigour, patience, steadfastness, cleanliness, bearing no malice, and no excessive pride — these belong to one born to the divine nature, Arjuna.

abhijātaḥ — born to. The chapter is about temperament as much as choice, and it does not resolve how much of it a person is handed. It simply describes two kinds and moves on.
