15.20 Nothing left outstanding Krishna speaks
इति गुह्यतमं शास्त्रमिदमुक्तं मयाऽनघ
एतद्बुद्ध्वा बुद्धिमान्स्यात्कृतकृत्यश्च भारत
iti guhyatamaṁ śhāstram idam uktaṁ mayānagha
etad buddhvā buddhimān syāt kṛita-kṛityaśh cha bhārata
So I have declared this deepest teaching, sinless one. Understanding it, a person becomes awake, and all that they had to do is done.
Explanation
And all that they had to do is done.
The chapter closes on kṛta-kṛtyaḥ — one whose doing is accomplished. Twenty verses that began with an axe end with nothing left outstanding.
Set it against 15.3. The tree is cut, the root is found, and the reckoning the whole book has been circling — what do I owe, what must I still do — is simply closed.
