12.6 Handing the actions over Krishna speaks

ये तु सर्वाणि कर्माणि मयि संन्यस्य मत्पराः
अनन्येनैव योगेन मां ध्यायन्त उपासते

ye tu sarvāṇi karmāṇi mayi sannyasya mat-paraḥ
ananyenaiva yogena māṁ dhyāyanta upāsate

But those who, giving all their actions over to me, take me as the highest and worship me with a mind turned nowhere else —

Explanation

Giving the actions over, not giving them up.

The condition is precise: sannyasya — laying down, handing over — every action to him, while continuing to do it. Chapter 3 argued the same thing at length; here it is one clause inside a longer sentence.

And the qualifier that keeps recurring in this chapter arrives again: a mind turned nowhere else. Not more effort. Less division.
