10.11 Standing in their own being Krishna speaks
तेषामेवानुकम्पार्थमहमज्ञानजं तमः
नाशयाम्यात्मभावस्थो ज्ञानदीपेन भास्वता
teṣhām evānukampārtham aham ajñāna-jaṁ tamaḥ
nāśhayāmyātma-bhāva-stho jñāna-dīpena bhāsvatā
Out of compassion for them alone, I destroy the darkness born of ignorance with the light of knowledge, standing in their own being.
Explanation
Standing in their own being.
Out of compassion, he destroys the darkness of ignorance with the light of knowledge — ātma-bhāva-stho, situated in their own self.
Not shining on them from outside. The removal happens from inside the person being helped, which is 15.7's fragment doing the work.
