संन्यासस्य महाबाहो तत्त्वमिच्छामि वेदितुम्

tyāgasya — of renunciation of desires for enjoying the fruits of actions

I wish to understand the truth of renunciation, mighty-armed one, and of letting go — and how they differ.

काम्यानां कर्मणां न्यासं संन्यासं कवयो विदुः

The wise know renunciation to be the giving up of actions driven by desire; and letting go, the giving up of the fruit of all action.

दुःखमित्येव यत्कर्म कायक्लेशभयात्त्यजेत्

tyāgam — renunciation of desires for enjoying the fruits of actions

One who gives up action because it is troublesome, out of fear of bodily discomfort, has let go in the manner of restlessness, and gains nothing by it.
