    ज्ञेयः स नित्यसंन्यासी यो न द्वेष्टि न काङ्क्षति

    sanyāsī — practising renunciation

    Know that one to be always a renouncer who neither hates nor craves. Free of opposites, mighty-armed one, such a person is released.

    अनाश्रितः कर्मफलं कार्यं कर्म करोति यः

    sanyāsī — in the renounced order

    One who does the work that must be done without depending on its fruit — that one is both a renouncer and a practitioner of yoga; not the one who lights no fire and does nothing.

  3. 6.4

    यदा हि नेन्द्रियार्थेषु न कर्मस्वनुषज्जते

    sanyāsī — renouncer

    When a person is attached neither to the objects of sense nor to actions, having renounced every intention — that one is said to be established in yoga.
