  1. 3.9

    यज्ञार्थात्कर्मणोऽन्यत्र लोकोऽयं कर्मबन्धनः

    mukta-saṅgaḥ — free from attachment

    Action other than that offered as sacrifice binds the world. So do your work as an offering, son of Kunti, free of attachment.

    गतसङ्गस्य मुक्तस्य ज्ञानावस्थितचेतसः

    muktasya — of the liberated

    For one free of attachment, released, mind established in knowledge, acting as an offering — action dissolves entirely.

    मुक्तसङ्गोऽनहंवादी धृत्युत्साहसमन्वितः

    mukta-saṅgaḥ — free from worldly attachment

    A doer free of attachment, who does not speak of themselves, filled with resolve and vigour, unmoved in success and failure, is said to be of clarity.

    न तदस्ति पृथिव्यां वा दिवि देवेषु वा पुनः

    muktam — liberated

    There is no being on earth, nor among the gods in heaven, that is free from these three strands born of nature.
