बाह्यस्पर्शेष्वसक्तात्मा विन्दत्यात्मनि यत्सुखम्

asakta-ātmā — those who are unattached

Unattached to outward contacts, one finds the happiness that is in the self. Joined to Brahman through yoga, such a person reaches inexhaustible joy.

न च मां तानि कर्माणि निबध्नन्ति धनञ्जय

asaktam — detached

And these actions do not bind me, Arjuna. I am seated as though indifferent, unattached to them.

सर्वेन्द्रियगुणाभासं सर्वेन्द्रियविवर्जितम्

asaktam — unattached

It appears through the qualities of all the senses and yet is without any sense; unattached, and yet the support of everything; without the strands of nature, and yet the enjoyer of them.

असक्तबुद्धिः सर्वत्र जितात्मा विगतस्पृहः

asakta-buddhiḥ — those whose intellect is unattached

One whose understanding is unattached everywhere, who has mastered themselves and is free of longing, reaches by renunciation the highest state beyond action.
