    अन्तवत्तु फलं तेषां तद्भवत्यल्पमेधसाम्

    alpa-medhasām — people of small understanding

    But the fruit they gain has an end, for their understanding is small. Worshippers of the gods go to the gods; those devoted to me come to me.

    एतां दृष्टिमवष्टभ्य नष्टात्मानोऽल्पबुद्धयः

    alpa-buddhayaḥ — of small intellect

    Holding this view, their selves lost, their understanding small, they arise as cruel doers, working for the ruin of the world.

    यत्तु कृत्स्नवदेकस्मिन्कार्ये सक्तमहैतुकम्

    alpam — fragmental

    And the knowledge which clings to one thing as if it were the whole, without reason, without regard for truth, and is small — that is said to be of inertia.
