  1. 8.17

    सहस्रयुगपर्यन्तमहर्यद्ब्रह्मणो विदुः

    ahaḥ — one day

    Those who know that a thousand ages make one day of Brahma, and a thousand ages his night, know day and night.

  2. 8.18

    अव्यक्ताद्व्यक्तयः सर्वाः प्रभवन्त्यहरागमे

    ahaḥ-āgame — at the advent of Brahma’s day

    At the coming of that day all things manifest emerge from the unmanifest; at the fall of night they dissolve into it again.

  3. 8.19

    भूतग्रामः स एवायं भूत्वा भूत्वा प्रलीयते

    ahaḥ-āgame — with the advent of day

    This same multitude of beings comes into being again and again, and again and again dissolves, helplessly, at the coming of night.

  4. 8.24

    अग्निर्ज्योतिरहः शुक्लः षण्मासा उत्तरायणम्

    ahaḥ — day

    Fire, light, day, the bright fortnight, the six months of the sun's northern course: departing then, those who know Brahman go to Brahman.
