  1. 6.35

    असंशयं महाबाहो मनो दुर्निग्रहं चलं

    abhyāsena — by practice

    No doubt the mind is hard to restrain and restless, mighty-armed one. But by practice and by dispassion it can be held, son of Kunti.

  2. 6.44

    पूर्वाभ्यासेन तेनैव ह्रियते ह्यवशोऽपि सः

    abhyāsena — discipline

    Carried by that earlier practice, such a person is drawn on even without willing it. And even one who merely wishes to know of yoga goes beyond the letter of the scriptures.

    अभ्यासेऽप्यसमर्थोऽसि मत्कर्मपरमो भव

    abhyāse — in practice

    If you are unable even to practise, then make my work your highest aim. Doing what is to be done for my sake, you will reach perfection.

    श्रेयो हि ज्ञानमभ्यासाज्ज्ञानाद्ध्यानं विशिष्यते

    abhyāsāt — than (mechanical) practice

    Knowledge is better than mere practice; meditation is better than knowledge; giving up the fruit of action is better than meditation — and from that giving up comes peace at once.
