9.28 Freed from both fruits Krishna speaks
शुभाशुभफलैरेवं मोक्ष्यसे कर्मबन्धनैः
संन्यासयोगयुक्तात्मा विमुक्तो मामुपैष्यसि
śhubhāśhubha-phalair evaṁ mokṣhyase karma-bandhanaiḥ
sannyāsa-yoga-yuktātmā vimukto mām upaiṣhyasi
So you will be freed from the bonds of action and its good and bad fruits. Joined by the yoga of renunciation, with a steady self, you will come to me.
Explanation
Freed from the bonds of action — and of its good fruit too.
Both are named: good and bad. Being tied by merit is treated as bondage in the same sentence as being tied by fault.
The symmetry is the Gita's most consistent instinct — 5.20's not exulting, 12.17's letting go of the pleasant, 14.6's clarity that binds. The grip is the problem, not what it holds.
