9.15 Some as one, some as many Krishna speaks
ज्ञानयज्ञेन चाप्यन्ये यजन्तो मामुपासते
एकत्वेन पृथक्त्वेन बहुधा विश्वतोमुखम्
jñāna-yajñena chāpyanye yajanto mām upāsate
ekatvena pṛithaktvena bahudhā viśhvato-mukham
And others, offering the sacrifice of knowledge, worship me — some as one undivided, some as many.
Explanation
Some as one undivided, some as many.
Others offer the sacrifice of knowledge and worship him — and the verse allows both conceptions without choosing.
Chapter 12 will ask exactly this question and give a preference. Here the two are simply listed, which is the more generous of the book's two answers to the same problem.
