8.14 Easy to reach Krishna speaks

अनन्यचेताः सततं यो मां स्मरति नित्यशः
तस्याहं सुलभः पार्थ नित्ययुक्तस्य योगिनः

ananya-chetāḥ satataṁ yo māṁ smarati nityaśhaḥ
tasyāhaṁ sulabhaḥ pārtha nitya-yuktasya yoginaḥ

For the one whose mind does not turn elsewhere, who remembers me constantly and always, I am easy to reach, son of Pritha.

Explanation

Difficulty was never the obstacle.

sulabhaḥ — easy to reach. The word sits oddly against the discipline of 8.12, and the condition attached to it explains why: for the one whose mind does not turn elsewhere.

The difficulty is not in the reaching. It is in the not turning elsewhere — constancy, which no technique supplies. Krishna is not lowering the bar here. He is moving it, from achievement to attention.
