2.68 Therefore, restrained Krishna speaks

तस्माद्यस्य महाबाहो निगृहीतानि सर्वशः
इन्द्रियाणीन्द्रियार्थेभ्यस्तस्य प्रज्ञा प्रतिष्ठिता

tasmād yasya mahā-bāho nigṛihītāni sarvaśhaḥ
indriyāṇīndriyārthebhyas tasya prajñā pratiṣhṭhitā

Therefore, mighty-armed one, in whom the senses are wholly restrained from their objects, in that person wisdom is firmly established.

Explanation

Therefore, restrained.

In whom the senses are wholly withheld from their objects, in that person wisdom is firmly established.

The phrase firmly established closes its fifth verse in this passage. The repetition is the chapter's way of insisting that this is a settled state rather than an achievement to be maintained.
