2.32 An open door Krishna speaks
यदृच्छया चोपपन्नं स्वर्गद्वारमपावृतम्
सुखिनः क्षत्रियाः पार्थ लभन्ते युद्धमीदृशम्
yadṛichchhayā chopapannaṁ swarga-dvāram apāvṛitam
sukhinaḥ kṣhatriyāḥ pārtha labhante yuddham īdṛiśham
Such a battle has come to you unsought, an open door. Fortunate are the warriors who find it.
Explanation
An open door.
Such a battle has come to him unsought — yadṛcchayā, by chance — and fortunate are the warriors who find it.
Nothing about this is comfortable, and it is not meant to be softened. A war he did not choose is being described as good luck.
